Installing the Wiki FAQs Plugin

All you really need to do is upload the Wiki FAQs plugin to the “/wp-content/plugin” folder and activate it in the admin menu, the plugin is now available and ready to be used without any customization.

The Wiki FAQs plugin is a completely custom addition built specifically for this theme, you will not find it anywhere else. If for some reason you want to use this plugin with another theme and need help getting it working I would be happy to help at my hourly rate, please contact me for more info.

Hmm this is weird. I have installed this plug in but when I type my domain.com/faqs in the url bar of my browse, it says it doesn’t exist. Am I suppose to make a post called FAQS with some code in it or something?

    • Derek Herman says:

You create a page, and in the sidebar on the add new page screen you select FAQs from the page template list.

Thanks for such a quick reply. I will give it a try.

Is there any possibility to search faq entrys with the live search?
If I type any word into the live search box and hit enter, there are results including faq entries, but the live search without enter displays only articles. Can you help me please?

    Hi

    - have installed the plug-in and the WP Wiki Theme (same as this one, very nice)
    - have created a FAQ page in Dashboard
    - can login in the left-hand side Sign In panel, which then presents a list of links (Dashboard, Write an article, Write a FAQ, Your Profile, Log out)

when I click ‘Write a FAQ’, redirected to domain.com/wp-admin/?page=wpWikiFAQs/addnew.php , however, I get a message “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page” (logged in as Administrator).

    Am I missing something here?

Thanks in advance, all help is appreciated.

    Cheers

Whoa, should have investigated a little further…

the link I was referring to is:
      /wp-admin/?page=wpWikiFAQs/addnew.php

If you add a new FAQ from the dashboard, the URL is as follows:
      /wp-admin/admin.php?page=wpWikiFAQs/addnew.php

noting that you need to specify admin.php as the script to use, rather than /?page (defaulting to index.php).

Is the original url the intended url, or does it need to be altered? for the time being, I’ll alter it ;)

      Cheers again

I have installed the FAQ plugin and all I get when I click on “write a FAQ” is a message saying:
“You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”
Have tried to change my permissions for the file in question but no success.
Any idea on how to fix this?
    Thanks

The plugin needs to be updated to go to the right URL, I’ll get on it ASAP and get it uploaded to TF.

  7. I am trying to get the Wiki FAQs Plugin to work but I get the following error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /homepages/40/d335580228/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/wp-pagenavi/wp-pagenavi.php on line 181

    What do I do?
